A proper start.

As I was reading different websites about growing plants from seeds, a few things kept repeating: type of soil, proper moisture, and temperature.  I'm using organic potting mix (picture below), and I'm keeping the soil moist, not wet.  However, the temperature might be an issue.  See, I'm keeping my seeds indoors because of heavy rains that happen sporadically... I'm not sure what the soil temperature is.  I went to Home Depot and they didn't have a soil thermometer, and the picture below is what I found at the local pharmacy.

I had no idea this thing reads temperatures only above 90F degrees... anything below that it shows you an L.  Basically, it's useless for what I need.  I'll spend the next few days looking for the one I need.
